Sari Smbul Concept — “Symphony” Restaurant Pavilion
The concept for the Symphony restaurant pavilion is inspired by the rhythm of the basalt columns at the Symphony of Stones. Cylindrical volumes are brought together by vertical timber fins, which also provide solar shading and create changing patterns of light and shadow throughout the day.
The panoramic glazed dining hall extends onto open terraces. A lightweight metal structure raises the building above the ground, reducing its contact with the natural terrain, while evening lighting accentuates the rhythm of the facades.
